Palau dels Cervelló, Plaça de Raimon Noguera, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
The flat is located very close to the Picasso Museum, hence the name we have given it. Pablo Picasso, despite being from Malaga, had a strong connection with Barcelona as he lived 9 years of his youth here, in the Born district. The museum currently occupies five Catalan Gothic palaces and contains more than 4,000 works by the painter, many donated by the artist and his widow, and by his former secretary, the driving force behind the project. Although there are currently more museums in the world with works by Picasso, this was the first and only one founded during the artist's lifetime, in 1936.It is clear that if Picasso chose this neighbourhood to live in, it was for a reason. Despite its medieval origins, today it is one of the most cosmopolitan and multicultural areas of the city. Here you have everything. Restaurants that give a modern twist to traditional tapas (Can Cisa/Bar Brutal), designer shops (Montse Liarte Atelier), yoga centres (YogaOneBorn), classic patisseries (Brunells) and modern ones (Hofman with the best croissants, or Jon Cake, with the most original cheesecakes) and the renovated Mercat de Santa Caterina for morning shopping at one of its specialised stalls. There are also plenty of museums to choose from: Museu de la Xocolata, Museu Moco (modern art), Centre Cultural del Born (excavation with the remains of the neighbourhood's history)... And, of course, the Picasso Museum, for which we recommend you buy your tickets in advance. METRO: JAUME I
