The Barri Gotic area in Barcelona is also known as the Gothic Quarter and is the area in which the old city of Barcelona is located. As you will see in the following photographs, the streets have very different styles but the Gothic Quarter is generally characterized by narrow cobblestone streets with tall, old buildings. Picasso lived and worked in the Barri Gotic from 1895 to 1904 and Joan Miró was born and lived here during his youth. The Barri Gotic is located on the right hand side of La Rambla if we look towards Plaça de Catalunya. For those people who don't know Barcelona, La Rambla is the famous 1.2 KM pedestrian street that is considered as the true center of Barcelona.
